Welcome to the Northern California Chapter of Sisters in Crime!

Sisters in Crime is an international organization of writers, readers, booksellers, librarians, agents, editors, reviewers and teachers interested in promote the professional development and advancement of women crime writers to achieve equality in the industry. The organization was founded in 1986 by Sara Paretsky with other women mystery writers and enthusiasts and now has over 45 local chapters around the world.

This is the web site for the Northern California chapter, which we happen to think is the coolest!

Next Meeting: August Workshop

Sisters in Crime authors teach the workshop "Pacing: Keeping the Story Moving with Subplots, Character Arc, and Wordcraft."

Juliet Blackwell (Julie Goodson-Lawes), Margaret Grace (Camille Minichino), and Sophie Littlefield have written multiple series in multiple genres and received multiple awards. But you don't have to pay multiple dollars to learn from them. All three writers are articulate and passionate about how to make sure your work maximizes its story potential!

Bring your current work in progress, as there will be writing exercises.

When: August 7, Noon - 2 PM.

Where: Castro Valley library.

Cost: Free
